Explanation of Tuition/Fees

Tuition covers daily, gourmet meals, all workshops, performances, and with early application, overnight accommodations in our quaint, double-occupancy cabins. If application is received after the weekend session is full, overnight accommodations may not be available. A non -refundable deposit of $350.00 is required with each signed application. Deposits are applied toward your tuition. Deposits are used for processing fees and instructor deposits and not student funds held in escrow, therefore they are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Any application received after the six week final billingperiod must include full tuition. We accept all major credit cards and personal checks. Please make checks payable to Fur Peace Ranch, Inc. Workshop Sessions Explained

Standard Weekend Tuition: $1550
Tuition Covers

  • Workshops (10+ hours of instruction)
  • All meals (Friday lunch through Monday breakfast)
  • Ticket for the performance(s) at the Fur Peace Station Concert Hall
  • Student Performance

Special Weekend Tuition: $1700
Tuition Covers

  • Workshops (12+ hours of instruction)
  • All meals (Friday lunch through Monday breakfast)
  • Ticket for the performance(s) at the Fur Peace Station Concert Hall

  • Overnight accommodations in one of our double-occupancy cabins (space permitting)

Couples' Weekend: Tuition for the first student is at the normal tuition rate of $1550. Spouses have the option to take a workshop for a reduced fee of $1300, or attend as a guest for a guest fee of $400(see below). Spouses that do not elect to take a workshop have the option of a massage and/or visiting local tourist attractions. Massage Therapy is available by appointment for an additional fee.

On The Road Tuition Covers

  • Workshops (15+ hours of instruction)
  • All meals (Monday dinner through Friday breakfast)
  • Student Performance
  • Instructor's Performance
  • 4 Nights Resort Lodging (Mon., Tue., Wed., Thur. nights).

Pick and Putt Weekend:
Starting at noon on Friday through noon on Monday is much like our regular weekend sessions, however Jorma leads a motorcycle ride that usually encompasses about 200 miles of road in beautiful Southeast Ohio. “The big ride” is held Saturday or Sunday (pending weather conditions). You are not required to ride or own a bile to attend this workshop. Workshops are scheduled around rides, so no workshop time is sacrifices for students riding. Time missed due to “the big ride” will be made up during the course of the weekend. $1550 (US)

Gift Certificates

Only students may fill out applications for workshop sessions. If you are wishing to sign a loved-one or friend up for a workshop please consider our gift certificates. Filling out an application for another is strictly prohibited because we are very careful about class level placement to ensure students are at the proper level and receive the instruction they need and desire. Our application contains a series of questions only the applicant will be able to answer about their skill level/playing abilities that we rely upon to determine an applicant’s abilities and placement. Gift Certificates are the perfect alternative.

Gift Certificates are available in any amount. Gift Certificates are good for two years from year it is issued and are non-transferable. Certificate that were donated to outside organizations for auction are good for one year. All gift certificates are non-refundable after 30 days from purchase date.

Guest and Guest Fees

  • Guest Fee (lodging offsite): $270 (US)
  • Guest Fee (lodging at FPR with enrolled student): $400 (US)

Cabin space is reserved for students first, guests will be permitted to share cabin space based on availability. Notification of available space will come from Directors office 6 weeks prior to schedules workshop. This does not apply to Couple’s Weekend; guests lodging space may be reserved during the student enrollment process. Any guest planning on bringing a guest MUST get prior approval by the Director at least four weeks prior to workshop dates. Guest fees are fully refundable up to 7 days prior to workshop date (the Friday preceding workshop commencement). After 7 days prior to the workshop refunds cannot be honored. Guest cancellations should be supplied in writing (email ok) by 4pm est.

Discounts, Additional Charges

There are no alternative lodging discounts for students who stay off campus during weekend sessions. A list of local hotels can be provided upon request. Please see lodging and non student rates section for additional charges for guest stay requests.

Cancellation Policy

The $350.00 deposit is non refundable, however, students may transfer the deposit toward another weekend for the same year's schedule, however students may not transfer their workshop to another person under any circumstance. Notification of cancellation must be given in writing and received no later than six weeks prior to scheduled workshop. If 6 weeks notice of cancellation is given the tuition will be refunded less the $350.00 deposit. If less than 6 weeks notice of cancellation is given, the Fur Peace Ranch reserves the right not to refund tuition if the open workshop space cannot be filled. Refunds will not be given for any reason after scheduled workshop begins.

If the Fur Peace Ranch must cancel a workshop, all moneys will be refunded or credited to another workshop. Fur Peace Ranch, Inc. is not responsible for travel expenses prepaid by students in the event of last minute cancellations.

Students paying by credit card will automatically be charged the balance due on designated due date unless prior arrangements have been approved.

Personal Conduct

Fur Peace Ranch offers an atmosphere which allows students, guests and staff, together, to create a responsible and responsive musical community. We expect all guests to take responsibility for themselves and their personal belongings. The Fur Peace Ranch will not be held responsible for loss or theft of any personal property. Students or guests volunteering any behavior which endangers or puts someone at risk of danger, will be asked to leave without a refund of tuition. Alcohol, illegal drugs and firearms are not permitted on the Fur Peace Ranch property and any student or guest found using or in possession of such will be asked to leave the Fur Peace Ranch without a refund of tuition. Additionally, no pets are allowed during weekend sessions.

It is suggested that students tape record their classes for personal reference only, (no video recording permitted). Taping and recording of classes is by instructor permission only, after you get permission if you walk away from the Fur Peace Ranch with audio and or video representation in the form of cd’s/dvd’s/tapes or e-files or any form known or unknown at this time, let it be known that these recordings mentioned above are for personal use only. They are not to be shared, downloaded, sold or posted on the internet ever. It is the student’s responsibility to abide by this legal request.

Youth Programs

We are no longer hosting a Summer Youth Program, however, we make accommodations for ages 14 through 17 to attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian to a regular scheduled workshop weekend. Under age students must stay off site with parent or guardian unless special arrangements have been made and are available.

Lodging

All cabins are double occupancy and are included with tuition (space permitting). Cabins are furnished with two single beds with linens, a small night-stand or bookcase, and alarm clock. All cabins have base-board heat and a window air conditioner for your comfort. Cabins are available on a first come first serve basis. We can only accommodate a certain number of students with a cabin. It is possible that you may not have a cabin included as part of your tuition. Equipment Requirements

All students are required to bring their own instruments and other materials needed for each workshop. The Fur Peace Ranch does have a limited number of acoustic guitars available for rent during our weekend sessions, we do not have bass guitars or amps available for rent. Please indicate at time of applying if equipment rental is needed. Rental is $150.00 per weekend, with a $250.00 deposit. Visit the Requirements page on the website for more info.

Scholarships

Full and partial scholarships are available to qualified students. At this time scholarships are reserved for all active service members of all branches of the U.S. Military. To apply for a scholarship, please submit an application either on line or via mail. Please include a 1-2 page cover letter that addresses your time in the service and your musical background. If you fill out the application on line you may mail your cover letter to directorofc@furpeaceranch.com or mail a hard copy to Fur Peace Ranch, Inc., 39495 St. Clair Road, Pomeroy, Ohio 45769.
