Want to enjoy some hot fun in the winter time?

It's time again for our Fur Peace Ranch On The Road winter getaway!

Find yourself relaxing on white sandy shell-strewn beaches while being caressed by the warm Gulf breeze; immerse yourself in non-peril instruction from Jorma Kaukonen to warm your fingers and soul. Did we just say "Gulf breeze"? Yes, that is right! This year, we are excited to announce that Fur Peace Ranch On The Road goes East Coast! Grab your bag and guitar and join us on the Gulf Coast of sunny, warm Florida for an exceptional experience at the Sundial Beach Resort and Spa!

Sundial Beach Resort and Spa on Sanibel Island, a barrier island located off of the coast from Fort Myers, FL, will be our "Fur Peace away from Fur Peace" for two weeks beginning at the end of January. Sundial Beach Resort and Spa was recently awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence - which recognizes Sundial Beach Resort and Spa as a property that consistently receives strong praise and high ratings from travellers and celebrates the resort as actively engaging with customers . . . which is exactly what we have experienced thus far in booking our group.

Sundial offers exclusive luxury accommodations with condominium style suites - 1 and 2 bedroom unit offerings with King, Queen or Twin Beds, full bath, equipped kitchens, and living/dining areas. Access to many resort amenities including free WIFI, paddleboards or kayaks, fitness center, bicycles for all ages, Tennis Court access, beach chairs and umbrellas, heated pools and free parking are all included. Come, relax and practice in a one bedroom suite with breathtaking garden or waterfront views and inclusive resort amenities.

During the first week, January 29 - February 02, 2018, Jorma will lead a Songwriting Workshop. In the course of the week, participants will find themselves writing a number of songs - during his last Songwriting session the class participants wrote a combined total of over 40 songs. Be prepared to do some writing! During the second week, February 5-9, 2018 Jorma takes his students on a musical adventure of a lifetime exploring songs he rarely teaches from his solo and Hot Tuna songbook.

Songwriting

All Levels

Jorma Kaukonen

This will be an extremely hands on session. In the course of the week, participants will find themselves writing a number of songs. We will be demystifying the creative process and hopefully opening the door to where each student will write songs without being intimidated by the process. I have always felt that music is a great way to dialogue. The really good songs are songs that when you hear it…there’s just something about it that touches your heart, and you don’t know why. I will mentor each of my students on how to keep their heart and ears open always listening for the story that needs to be told.

The Untaught and Rarely Taught Jorma Kaukonen Song Book

Level 3

Jorma Kaukonen with David WolffJoin me as I delve into teaching songs that up until now, I have yet to teach. In this class you will learn songs from my second solo album release in 1979 entitled, “Jorma” (clever name) as well as other gems. These classics contain many different varieties of fingerpicking styles that will help you advance quickly and open up many new musical doors. This is an extremely unique opportunity to expand your repertoire while acquiring new skills and techniques. I’ve been told these songs are simply beautiful. You may arrive wondering, “How do I do it?” But rest assured you will leave with all of the answers.

For this class I will be joined by David Wolff, my partner in the online music education site, BreakDownWay.com. All students signing up for this workshop will receive 2 FREE months subscription to BreakDownWay.com to help enhance this learning experience (subscription will be for 1 month before the workshop and 1 month following the workshop).
